Healthy Aroostook is a local coalition that collaborates with community partners in Central and Southern Aroostook. Much of the work is through education and awareness as well as policy and environmental change in five areas: physical activity, nutrition, tobacco, substance abuse, and chronic disease. Some of the other areas addressed by Healthy Aroostook include Lead and Breastfeeding.
We are one of 27 Healthy Maine Partnerships funded through the Fund for a Healthy Maine, a grant from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a division of the Department of the Maine Health and Human Services. We also receive funding and support from the Maine Office of Substance Abuse. Aroostook County Action Program is the fiscal agent for Healthy Aroostook. We also partner with MSAD #1 and MSAD #29.Vision:
